How to set up a wireless controller for Windown

Step 1: Connect the Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver to your computer

1. On the receiver, remove the green label from the USB connector.
2. Insert the USB connector into a powered USB 2.0 port on the computer.

Note The USB ports on the front of your computer may not be powered USB 2.0 ports. Try using one of the ports on the back of your computer.
A green light on the receiver indicates that the unit is working.


3. If the Add New Hardware Wizard starts automatically, select Install the software automatically (Recommended), and then click Next. If the wizard installs the software successfully, click Finish and then skip to “Step 3: Connect an Xbox 360 wireless accessory to your computer” below.If the wizard fails to install the software, go to “Step 2: Install the Xbox receiver software” below.

Step 2: Install the Xbox receiver software
Before you can use wireless accessories with your computer, you might need to install some software. If you have the installation disc that came with your Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver, you can install the software from that disc. If you do not have that disc, you can install the software by downloading it online.
To install the software from a disc:

1)   Insert the installation disc into the CD or DVD drive of your computer. If the Setup program does not automatically start, change to your CD or DVD drive and run the Setup program.
2)  Follow the steps in the wizard to install the software.

Note You might be prompted to restart your computer after the installation is complete.

To install the software by downloading it online:

1. Go to the Software Downloads section of the Microsoft Hardware website.
2. Select Gaming as the product type.
3. Select Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows as the product.
4. Select the version of Microsoft Windows you are using on your computer, select your operating system language, and then click Download.
5. Click Run.
6. The Xbox 360 Accessories Setup program installs the necessary files to your computer.
Note You might be prompted to restart your computer after the installation is complete.

Step 3: Connect an Xbox 360 wireless accessory to your computer

1)  Turn on the Xbox 360 wireless accessory that you want to use with your receiver.
For example, to turn on a controller, press and hold the Guide button, located in the middle of the controller. If you do not know how to turn on the accessory, read the documentation for that accessory.

2)  On the receiver, press the connect button. The light flashes green.

3)  On the wireless accessory, press the connect button. For example, on the controller, the connect button is on the back.

Green flashing lights on the accessory and on the receiver indicate that the device is trying to establish a connection. When the light stops flashing and remains lit, the accessory is connected. For example, on a wireless controller, one of the lights around the Guide button will remain lit. If the wireless accessory cannot connect, see Troubleshoot your Xbox 360 controller for Windows.

HOW TO TAKE CARE WELL YOUR PETS

Taking care of your pet can be an almost full time job that needs dedication, a sense of responsibility and love. Here is some advice for pet owners to guarantee a lifelong pleasant experience for both pet and owner.

Cats and dogs are the most demanding. They need to be fed at least twice a day.  Do not feed your pet leftovers as human food can be hazardous to your pet’s life. Chocolate is a big no.

“Sugar is completely prohibited for pet as it affects their pancreas and cause diabetes,” says Ayman Emad al-Din, a veterinarian.  If your dog or cat is used to hard food, choose a good brand that has vitamins for their hair and bone development. Make sure your pet always has access to fresh and clean water.

Gradual weaning is the right way to transfer your puppy or kitten from milk to solid food. “Start by mixing milk with yogurt or bread after 21 days,” says Emad al-Din.

According to the vet, vaccination takes place from the sixth to the twelfth week. Annual vaccination is recommended.

 A light slap or blow could work for a punishment, which takes us to potty training. Your pet’s litter box needs to be cleaned regularly ( once a day); life is less hectic with dogs as they usually ‘go’ during their daily walk.  

Exercise is another important component of your relationship with your pet. For dogs, aside from their daily walk, make sure you run, swim or play fetch with your dog on daily basis. Others may want to hire a special trainer for their dog. For cats, especially kittens, the exercise is less complex; tossing around a ball could be challenging and amusing for your pet.

For grooming, cats need less attention as they don’t bath; often dry shampoo and flea medicine is enough. Of course, try to comb your pet’s hair daily to get rid of access hair. Dogs need more attention when it comes to grooming as they stay outdoors most of the time. They need a shower at least once a month and constant check for ticks and fleas.

At sleep time, make sure to have a dog house for your dog if your dog is kept outside. A shelter will protect your pet from harsh weather. If your pet sleeps indoors, set up a comfortable and warm box or bed, which can be easily found at pet shops and some vet clinics. An interesting fact about pet’s sleep: once you have a pet at home you will realize that it almost never goes to bed before it makes sure that his family is safely asleep. Make your pet’s bed close to your room but not too close.

“A pet is a member of the family and if you do not see that, then you are not eligible to own it,” concludes Emad al-Din, the animal lover. Always know that you are the most important and loved one for your pet and it depends on you.”

vegetables and wholegrains with meals or as snacks, keep fresh fruit on

 the bench or table, try new foods yourself and carry a bottle of water

 around.You could also get creative in the kitchen and make food fun,

 by cutting it into shapes with cookie cutters, naming a food your child

 helped create, for example ‘Ava’s salad’, making funny faces on then

 plate with fruits and vegetables, making vegetables taste better by 

serving with dressings or dips like hummus or making your own ice cream 

from frozen bananas.You could also get kids involved in the food shopping

 and discuss where fruits, vegetables, meats and grains come from.

This made me love Pokemon again

Let me begin by saying that I am a long, die hard, Pokemon fan. I began back with Pokemon Ruby, and subsequently moved to play the first and second generations. I was absolutely and completely mesmerized by the amazing fun and thrilling rush of playing any Pokemon game. I still remember skipping middle school to stay home and train my Larvitar in Pokemon Silver. I still remember bringing my Gameboy Advance everywhere to try to find Surf in Pokemon Red. I vividly remember beating the Elite Four in Pokemon FireRed for the first time and maniacally pressing A in hopes of catching Mewtwo with the UltraBall.

However, things have changed. I am a college student now. Pokemon Black and White, was for me, a major disappointment. I logged over 100 hours in Pokemon Pearl and Platinum and barely even got my 7th badge in Pokemon Black before completely quitting and never touching it again... I feared the worst, oh god, did I outgrow my childhood? Was I becoming more cynical, more serious, heaven forbid, more mature?! 

Well, Pokemon Y brought it back... and during midterms week.

My Charizard, Raichu, and Greninja are all ready to tackle the Elite Four and I feel like a Pokemon Master again! DEFINITELY BUY THIS GAME IF YOU LIKE POKEMON. Even if you were disillusioned with Pokemon Black and White, give XY a try. I did, and I do not regret it. The graphics are amazing, and the magic is certainly there.
